About Library & Information Centre

             The Library and information Centre of our institution is serving as ‘Learning Resource Centre’ for our students and faculty members. We collects, processes, organize, maintains, preserves and disseminate information contained in the documents in order to offer our users with the ‘Right to Learn’.

            We have a well stocked Library & Information centre comprising of Text & Reference Books, Journals, General Magazines, News dailies, CDs, Non book materials and UGC Network Resource Centre with Internet facility.

             Library is operating between 9 am to 6 pm on all week days. It works on holidays between 9 am to 2 pm. However, timings are extended during examinations on the request of students.

            We have a collection of about 21500 books both text and reference on languages, humanities, computer applications, competitive examinations and about 30 Indian Journals are provided to our users. Sufficient funds are allocated in the library budget for these resources.

            We offer various services to our users community. They are Document Lending, Book Consultation, Basic Reference Service, Photocopy Service, Computer & Internet Service, Current Awareness Service (CAS) and Selective Dissemination of information. With all these services we try to cater the knowledge based information needs of students, faculty members and researchers in their self learning, reference and class room demonstration.

            We have separate Computer and internet section wherein about 10 computer terminals are installed. We are providing access to e-journals of INFLIBNET, an UGC autonomous body. Accessing e-journals is now made easy than before at few clicks of a mouse with least time to all our students, teachers and researchers inorder to keep them abreast of latest developments in the field of their interest.

            Our library is designed and functions to ensure optimum utilization of its resources and service by users community through our collection development and services.

Hostel

             Our students have been accommodated in a common Women’s Hostel run by S.J.M. Vidyapeetha. They are provided with good residing and boarding facilties constructed with financial aid from UGC. There is a separate hostel facility provided to our students belongs to backward classes by Social Welfare Department. The Resident Wardens of these hostels take care of the needs of inmates. Necessary care is exercised for providing quality food and drinking water at all our hostels. Reading and Recreation facilities are also provided

Canteen

             The College provides Canteen facility where necessary care is taken to ensure serving of quality food prepared in hygienic condition and provision of safe drinking water to our students. Separate accommodation is made for teachers and students in the college canteen to cater their refreshment needs.
